Purpose of the Role
The Model Builder / Workshop Manager is ultimately responsible for what leaves the workshop. This person actively works on the construction and finishing of models and at the same time monitors the standard, tidiness, planning, and quality control in the workshop. The role revolves around making, finishing, checking, and delivering. Not half work. No half-finished work, only top-quality results leave the workshop.
Core of the Function
You work on highly diverse technical scale models of work vessels, yachts, and industrial machines. You do this across the full scope of the profession: post-processing 3D prints, sanding, filling, spraying, assembling, checking, and preparing for delivery. In addition, you maintain overview in the workshop and ensure that materials, tools, workbenches, and projects remain well organized. AllOnScale works according to a clear standard: quality, predictability, and neat delivery.
Responsibilities
- Post-processing of 3D printed parts.
- Sanding, filling and tightly preparing parts for finishing.
- Spraying parts and models according to fixed procedures and quality standards.
- Assembling complete models and subassemblies.
- Checking models for finishing, level of detail, stickers, fit and presentation.
- Carrying out repairs, corrections and final assembly where necessary.
- Keeping the workshop neat, safe and organized.
- Ensuring that materials and paint cans are stored and processed correctly.
- Thinking along about smarter work sequences, finishing and standardization in the workshop.
- Helping colleagues with quality control and handover moments.
- Taking final responsibility for the condition of the workshop and the quality of deliverable models.
Profile

- has an MBO or HBO background
- likes to work with his or her hands
- works accurately and neatly
- has a sense of shape, finishing and detail
- enjoys working on very different projects
- wants to take responsibility in the workshop
- works calmly and in a structured way
- values quality over speed and has strong technical insight.
- Is open to further developing their skills at AllOnScale.
- may be junior, as long as the basics are solid and the motivation is right
