FDM<\/strong> is de afkorting van Fused Deposition Modeling<\/strong> en is de meest voorkomende technologie voor eenvoudige en snelle prototyping. Het materiaal wordt geleverd als rollen draad en wordt aan de bewegende kop van de 3D-printer gevoerd. Binnenin de kop wordt het plastic lokaal gesmolten en via een fijne hete straalpijp op de bouwplaat afgezet. De kop is computergestuurd om een bepaald pad in x- en y-richting te volgen. Zodra het materiaal is afgezet koelt het af en wordt het weer hard. Wanneer de nozzel het volledige oppervlak van die laag heeft getraceerd, daalt het bouwvlak met 0,1 mm en wordt het proces herhaald.<\/p>\n afkorting van Stereolithografie-apparatuur<\/strong> en is de oudste vorm van 3D-printing. Het materiaal is een vloeistof en wordt in flessen geleverd. Het bouwgedeelte bestaat uit een klein bad met een doorzichtige bodem. Het badje wordt automatisch of handmatig gevuld met het materiaal. Hierna beweegt het bouwplateau naar beneden in het bad en laat een 0,1 mm ruimte tussen het bouwplateau en de badbodem. Een laser of andere UV-bron traceert de laag van onderaf door de doorzichtige badbodem. Afdrukken komen veel gladder uit en de zichtbare laaglijnen zijn minimaal. De meeste onderdelen zijn direct te gebruiken en te schilderen zonder veel schuren. Kleine details zoals de tekst op de achterzijde zijn dieper en duidelijker. Het laserformaat is 0.085mm in vergelijking met het 0.4mm mondstukformaat van een FDM-printer waardoor het mogelijk is om zeer kleine details na te bootsen. De onderdelen van SLA concurreren met veel duurdere industri\u00eble oplossingen.<\/p>\n De overeenkomsten<\/strong> tussen FDM en SLA zijn dat in beide systemen niet in de vrije lucht kan worden geprint. Als uw onderdeel een overhang heeft zal het in beide systemen ondersteund moeten worden om het model correct te kunnen bouwen. Beide technologie\u00ebn maken dus gebruik van een ondersteuningsstructuur om het model te ondersteunen tijdens het printen. Deze steunen moeten na het printen worden verwijderd.<\/p>\n De\u00a0nadelen<\/strong> van SLA zijn dat het duurder is dan FDM (hoewel het nog steeds veel goedkoper is dan industri\u00eble oplossingen). Bij FDM is alleen het materiaal bepalend voor de kosten en het af en toe vervangen van de nozzles. In SLA is het materiaal ongeveer twee keer zo duur en is de bouwlade een onderdeel dat na een aantal afdrukken vervangen moet worden.
